Send Tradetron Alerts From Your Own Telegram Bot

By default AlgoEdge messages come from PNLBot. You can instead send everything — P&L reports, error alerts, order matching alerts and auto replies — from a bot with your own name, on every plan.

1. Create a bot in Telegram

Open @BotFather in Telegram and send /newbot. Pick a display name and a username that ends in "bot". BotFather replies with a token that looks like 123456789:AAH… — copy it.

2. Save the token in AlgoEdge

Open Alerts → Telegram, choose "Add your own P&L bot", paste the token and press Validate & save. Telegram checks the token before it is stored. The token is encrypted and is never shown again.

3. Press Start in your bot

Get the verification link, open your bot in Telegram and press Start. This proves the bot is yours and lets it send you personal alerts. The page updates by itself once Telegram confirms.

4. Connect groups and channels

Add your bot as an admin that can post in each group or channel. Then press Connect on a channel in AlgoEdge and post the code it shows inside that group or channel. Press Test to confirm delivery. Chats linked before you added your own bot stay paused until you reconnect them.

Frequently asked questions

Is my own bot available on the Free plan?

Yes. Your own Telegram bot is included on every plan.

Can I go back to PNLBot?

Yes. Open "Manage your bot" and choose "Stop using my bot". PNLBot then needs admin rights in each group or channel again.
